Join us on April 9th, 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm, for our latest solo show opening of From Then Until Now: A Michael Adamson Survey

From Then Until Now: A Michael Adamson Painting Survey brings together works from the 1990s to 2026 and shows how Adamson’s painting has evolved over more than three decades.

Painting has often been declared “dead,” especially with the rise of conceptual art and now AI-generated images, but Adamson’s work is proof that painting is still very much alive. Digital tools can quickly produce polished images, but paintings focus on touch, material, and human intuition. hey are slower, more uncertain, and more personal.

Adamson trained at a time in the 1990s when photography and digital media were becoming dominant, but rather than turning away from painting, he absorbed those influences into it with his work that emphasizes what makes painting distinct, its physical presence and emotional weight.

This exhibition doesn’t present a strict timeline, but more so a consistent approach to seeing and making. Adamson continues to explore perception and how images come into being, and in a fast-moving, image-saturated world, his paintings offer a slower experience.

We ask viewers to pause, look carefully, and spend time with what they see.
