Connor Mcleary

Bio

Connor McCleary is a 23 year old painter from Waco, Texas. He is a recent UBC graduate, with
a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and a minor in art history. His practice revolves around his
interest in the awkwardness of the mind and body. He enjoys the humour he can achieve
through working with objects of everyday life; objects that may reflect our odd habits and
histories. His practice focuses primarily on oil painting. Oftentimes, his paintings are very detail
oriented. In his recent works, he attempts to escape the 2D plane to hold a more interactive
space with the viewer. His work has been in the Alternator Centre, the FINA Gallery, and now
SOPA Fine Arts.
