A David Tycho solo exhibition!

The last 10 years of David Tycho’s studio practice have been marked by both heightened production and heightened experimentation. He has explored subjects ranging from pristine wilderness to urban sprawl; from portraiture to pure abstraction; from beauty and opulence to decay and despair. In terms of technique, David has employed various methods of paint application, of collage and assemblage, and of photographic and digital processes. The unifying constant throughout these many changes, however, is Tycho’s unwavering dedication to spontaneity and improvisation, beginning each work without preconceived notions of a final product. Problems of form, content and meaning are worked out during the act of creation, giving all works a feeling of discovery and vitality. But regardless of the array of subjects and techniques David utilizes, each work is unmistakably a Tycho.
