Alexander Rasmussen
Niagara Region

Alexander Rasmussen (b. 1988) is a Canadian abstract artist living and working in the Niagara Region. Rasmussen’s paintings are informed by the space where he works, often large and visually arresting.
Rasmussen received his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia. He began exhibiting his work in 2013 and, consistent with his interest in Canada’s Painters Eleven, found representation with the Christopher Cutts Gallery in 2019. He has since shown his work internationally, and his 2022 solo show, “Can’t Hit a Moving Target,” was a fantastic success, securing his place as a burgeoning artist on the rise in the Canadian art scene. His 2023 exhibition, “Cold Storage,” held at the farm he had called his studio for many years, was an innovative and romantic sensorial experience at the picturesque cherry orchards of Canada’s Niagara Region.
